Granite Countertops in Grove, OK

Granite is where our shop started, and it is still the stone most people walk in asking about. It is quarried in blocks and cut into slabs, so no two pieces are alike — the slab you choose is the slab we cut for your kitchen.

It is heat-tolerant, hard-wearing, and available in a wider range of colors and patterns than any other material we carry. We fabricate and install it from our own shop on US-59 in Grove.

What's included

What we handle on this kind of project

  • Natural stone

Every slab is one of a kind, straight from the quarry block.

  • Heat tolerant

Comfortable with hot pans and the wear of an everyday kitchen.

  • Hard-wearing

Holds up well against scratching and daily use.

  • Huge variety

From quiet, uniform speckle to bold veining and movement.

What granite actually looks like in a room

Photographs flatten granite. A slab that looks busy in a three-inch photo can read calm across a large island, and a quiet sample can turn dramatic in a narrow run beside a range. Grain size, background tone and the amount of movement all change with the size of the surface they sit on.

Colors fall roughly into three families: speckled granites that read as a single tone from across the room, veined granites where the pattern travels, and dark exotics with metallic or gold movement. Which family suits you usually comes down to your cabinets and how much visual noise the rest of the kitchen already has.

Practical considerations

Granite is a natural, porous material. Sealing is normal maintenance rather than a flaw — a sealed granite surface resists everyday spills well, and resealing periodically keeps it that way. How often depends on the specific stone and how hard the kitchen works.

Like any stone, granite can chip at an unsupported edge or a corner if something heavy hits it. Overhangs beyond the standard span need support underneath, which we plan at template rather than discovering on install day.

Where granite works best

Kitchen countertops and islands are the most common use, and granite is a strong choice for outdoor kitchens and grill surrounds because it handles Oklahoma summers and sun better than most engineered surfaces. Fireplace hearths and surrounds are another natural fit.

It is equally at home on a bathroom vanity top, and a granite remnant is often the most affordable way to finish a guest bath or laundry counter in real stone.

Care that keeps it looking new

Day to day, a dedicated stone cleaner is kinder than a general household spray — many all-purpose cleaners are harsh enough to dull a polished surface over time. We stock and use DuPont StoneTech products, including a countertop sealer and a revitalizer cleaner and protector.

Wipe up acidic spills such as citrus, wine or vinegar rather than leaving them to sit, and use a board for cutting. Not because granite cannot handle a knife, but because the stone will win and your knife will not.

How we select, fabricate and install granite

We help you choose the slab in person, then template your room after the cabinets are set. Layout is done against your actual template, so the pattern runs the way you saw it in the showroom and any seam falls where it reads best.

Cutting, edge profiling, sink and cooktop cutouts and polishing all happen at our Grove shop. The same crew that measured brings the finished stone back and sets it — a short drive rather than a shipment from another market.

FAQ

Questions we hear often

Does granite need to be sealed?
It is a natural, porous stone, so periodic sealing is normal maintenance. We stock DuPont StoneTech countertop sealer and will show you exactly how to apply it.
How do I clean granite day to day?
A dedicated stone cleaner is gentler than general household sprays. The Revitalizer cleaner and protector we carry is the product we use ourselves.
Is granite or quartz better for a busy family kitchen?
Both work. Granite gives you a one-of-a-kind natural surface with periodic sealing; quartz is non-porous and needs no sealing but is a manufactured, more uniform look. We will walk you through both rather than push one.
Can granite be used outside at the lake?
Granite is one of the better choices for an outdoor kitchen or bar top. Tell us how exposed the space is and we will point you to slabs suited to full sun.
Can I see full slabs before I decide?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Come to the showroom at 5500 US-59 in Grove and we will pull material alongside your cabinet door or paint sample.
